Staycation at The Outpost Hotel

Really grateful that The Outpost Hotel actually allowed me to check-in early yesterday so that I could decorate the room to surprise the girlfriend on our 6 years anniversary together. Love the serenity of the hotel here and the beautiful pool that offer everyone a great view of the sea surrounding the island. 

I was so stuck with choosing either the hotel room with the pool view or sea view initially but after some thoughts and I decided to go for the hotel room with the pool view. The reason is actually pretty simple because there is nothing much to see for Singapore seas anyway other than the number of cargo ships waiting to dock. 

Love the varieties of food selection when it comes to the hotel breakfast but I think the way the tables are arranged and the type of tables used seems to have caused the long queues outside the cafe. 

The Surprise Proposal

Today's our 6 years anniversary together and I have decided to surprise the girlfriend with a staycation and proposal. Told the girlfriend that I have to attend a Malay wedding in the morning so that I have the time to go collect all the items that I have ordered. 

My first stop today would be to collect the 21 peach and white metallic helium balloons from Misty Daydream at Ang Mo Kio. Chose 21 balloons because it is the date of our anniversary together. Lucky I managed to sneak out the picnic mat and some clips so that I could push the helium balloons underneath it to prevent them from blocking my view as I drove to the next location. 

Second stop today would be to collect the big balloon bear sculpture from JocelynBalloons at Yishun. Really happy to see how the balloon bear sculpture turned out because it is so cute and nice with the bear holding a mini Cony :)

Third stop today would be to collect the proposal ring from JannPaul. So excited because I have been checking with Joy from JannPaul about the progress of the ring and finally it's ready for collection. So happy to see that the proposal ring is as per what I requested :) Can't wait to surprise the girlfriend tonight.

Last stop today would be to check-in to The Outpost Hotel and decorate the room with all the photos that we took for the past 6 years and position the balloon bear sculpture in the middle of it. Hehe texted the girlfriend to get her to pack her luggage and be ready for a staycation. 

Went back home to fetch the girlfriend without letting her know where we are going until we reach the Outpost Hotel at Sentosa. Hehe surprise surprise for the girlfriend :) 

After we chillax in the room for abit and I told her we are going out for our next activity without letting her know where we are going again. I can't believe that she thought we are going to the Sea Aquarium for dinner. 

Surprise the girlfriend with the sunset cruise onboard the TallShip with Royal Albatross and she have no idea what I am planning to do at all. Ordered some light finger food to eat as the ship set sail around the Sentosa island. It's so beautiful with the view of the city and Sentosa island, I love it so much. 

It's time to make the move now. Told the girlfriend that we can go over to the back of the ship to take some photos at the "magic carpet" area and I faster whisper to the staff that I am going to propose to her now and for her to take videos and photos for us. Hehe caught the girlfriend by surprise when I go down on one knee and pop the most important question in my life :) Dear, will you marry me? lalala so shy and she nods her head :) 

Diamond Education [Jann Paul]

Today's my diamond education with JannPaul and I set it during lunch time otherwise I wouldn't have time after work too. Met up with Joy for our 1.5 hours of diamond education as she educate me on the 4Cs: Cut, Colour, Clarity and Carat. 

The Cut of the diamond is regarded as one of the most important aspect as it has the greatest influence on a diamond's sparkle so I decided to go for the Super Ideal Cut Round Diamond. 

The Colour of the diamond is as important as I would not want the diamond to turn out yellowish so I decided to go for F so that it would be colorless. 

The Clarity of the diamond refers to the tiny microscopic imperfections on the diamond so I decided to go for VVS2 (Very Very Slightly Included).

Lastly, for the Carat of the diamond, I decided to go for 0.390 because I really cannot stand the diamond being any smaller than that.

And now to the most important part of it. The customisation of the proposal ring so I chose a 18k white gold setting with 4 heart-shaped prongs to hold the diamond and also 9 side diamonds at each side. I also wanted something to symbolise the girlfriend's name "雪" which means snow therefore I opted to have a half snowflake on the ring and also 1 diamond on each side of the snow flake. And with that, the proposal ring would have a total of 21 diamonds, which symbolised the date of our anniversary together :)

And finally, the final product of the proposal ring :)

Setting of Appointment [JannPaul]

Drove over to JannPaul after sending the girlfriend to work. So happy that I managed to set an appointment for the ring education next week :)
