New Year's Eve

Lalala we have come to the last day of 2016. Can you imagine the year 2016 is coming to an end in a few hours time? Usually towards the end of the year, most of the people will be reviewing their resolution of the year and see if they actually achieve it, but for me I have not set any resolutions except to live everyday like the very last day and enjoy life :) 

It's the cousin Liyuan's wedding today over at Orchard Hotel Singapore and the girlfriend is joining me and the family to attend the wedding lunch. We have attended a number of weddings together as a couple and I can't wait to have a wedding of our own :)

And so after the wedding lunch we drove back home and rest for awhile before heading out with Tessa. Drove to Shaw Tower to park the car so that we can avoid the road closure and traffic congestion over at Esplanade and Marina area. Lalala took Tessa on a walk from Shaw Tower to Connaught Drive where there are stalls selling food and merchandise for today. What a challenge walking Tessa and hiding her in a bag when we had to cross the road via the MRT underpass due to all the road closure tonight. 

So happy to finally reach here after a close to 20 minutes walk due to all the human traffic and road closure. Tessa is so active today too even though we have to constantly carry her up and hid her in the bag whenever we have to walk down the underpass. Lalala enjoying the breeze walk along the Esplanade Park together with the girlfriend and Tessa. Head over to the open field outside the Victoria Theatre @ Concert Hall where there are free movie screening today. Lucky I brought along a picnic mat so we can sit down and enjoy the movie :)

And so after a long walk and movie under the stars, the year 2016 is really coming to an end. So happy to be here with the girlfriend and Tessa today. What a yikai day to be able to relax over here and enjoy the fireworks and not squeeze with majority of the people at the Esplanade or Marina area.

Boxing Day 2016

Woke up early morning to prepare and head over to Hotel Jen @ Midpoint Orchard to join the girlfriend for a swim at the hotel's swimming pool. Hehe actually I can't wait to head out and be near to the girlfriend :) 

I love the swimming pool here which guarantees a scenic view of the town area as well as the Marina Bay Sands from a distance. I love how the hotel actually provides lots of bean bags for the hotel guests and the security personnel on duty was friendly too as I see him smiling to basically everyone. Awesome hotel for staycation as compared to the catastrophic M Social hotel which the girlfriend initially book. Can't say I'm really impressed by Hotel Jen. Awesome, just awesome :)

Head over to Orchard which is just within our reach from Hotel Jen for a walk and enjoy the Public Holiday (Boxing Day) today. Everywhere was so packed with people and walking around seems so hard lol but I rather surround myself with people during the festive season :) 

Merry Christmas to You 2016

Hohoho Merry Christmas everyone out there, it's the time of the year again and it's my favourite holiday of all. Always been a fan of Christmas because of the beautiful decorations and Christmas songs being played in every shopping malls. It's always the season where we see lots of people sharing their love for one another by giving to the less fortunate people. Once again Merry Christmas to you, let's spread more love and not war.

Meet up with the girlfriend for dinner over at Mr Kim Korean BBQ together with her mum and sis today. Yummy yummy spicy chicken and pork though I would love to have some ice cream to end the day, other than that I think it's really good. After our dinner we head over to Orchard to walk around the area and take some photos before going back to their hotel at Hotel Jen @ Midpoint Orchard to chillax before I head back home. 

Christmas Eve

It's been so long since I updated our blog because I've been so busy with work and other stuffs. So happy that I can finally have some free time to sit down and update our blog hehe. Head out to Ang Mo Kio Hub with the girlfriend today to pay the premiums for our insurance as well as have our lunch.

Went over to Orchard Road to walk around with the girlfriend today and do some shopping. Managed to buy some new shirts for work at G2000 where there's discount of up to 50% or more. Got my shirt for just $29 instead of $39 when I purchased 2 pieces and the usual price of that one shirt is $69. Furthermore with the wt+ member and minimum of 3 pieces, I get to enjoy an additional 15% off too.

Finally got to taste the Bake cheese tarts after queuing for 30 minutes

Went back to Ang Mo Kio as the girlfriend is gonna dye her hair today. Few hours later and the girlfriend's hair is so nice now hehe :) Went over to Kovan to have our dinner over at 奇味鸡煲 because it's raining so heavily now that we got the feel for it hehe. So happy because our Christmas dinner is so yummy yummy.

Christmas in the office

Yeah we're having our department's Christmas lunch today at Ash & Char which is just opposite of our office which is great since not much walking is required hehe. Ordered the Chicken Thigh Confit and a nice warm cup of Cappuccino. The food here is just awesomely tasty, especially the char siew that literally smelts in your mouth.

Received a couple of presents from the colleague from the other department, as well as our bosses. To be honest, I kinda miss receiving the Ferrero Rocher chocolates as my annual Christmas presents hehe. 

So basically there are no Christmas gifts exchange in the office for this year as there are way too many colleagues who are on annual leave and there is no one single day where everyone is around for us to do that. Anyway there are so many movements and things that happened recently that I don't have the feel for it either so I guess it doesn't really makes any difference too. How I wish things will be better in time to come.

So happy for the girlfriend today because she managed to pass her Module 5 exam and finally completed all her CMFAS exams lo lalala. Now she can finally put down all her worries and enjoy the remaining training sessions before she embark on her new career ^_^

Rogue One - A Star Wars Story

Yeah it's finally my turn to catch the latest Star Wars story which was out since 14 December 2016. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story here I come ^_^ Can only watch it at Shaw Cineplex at Waterway Point after work instead of Grand Cathay as me and my girlfriend are just too tired from our work to even head over to town. I really think the people who watch at Waterway Point are so boring unlike those at Grand Cathay who are way enthusiastic. 

I always think that we're never too old to be young again, just that I am only brave to whip out the lightsaber at the carpark and not bring it to the cinema. Lucky I didn't bring it along because as expected the people who watch at Waterway Point are the boring kind. 

I love the Rogue One movie so much that I felt like watching it again. Everything is just so perfect from the storyline to how the action scenes are played out. Makes me feel like a kid all over again. Star Wars rock !!!

Day 16 of the Star Wars Advent Calendar brings us the Silver Protocol Droid which was identified to be U3-PO. Well, basically U3-PO was the same model as C-3PO which explains why they look so identical to each other. Oh, look who just zoom past them.

Day 12 of the Star Wars Advent Calendar brings us the Droid Gunship which was used by the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars. It was used as a main weapon and means of transportation of the battle droids.

Day 11 of the Star Wars Advent Calendar which brings us the Armored Assault Tank, also known as the AAT which was used by the Trade Federation and the Separatists during the Clone Wars. I like how Lego managed to come up with such a cute mini version of the AAT. Look at the size of it next to my microfighter version of the AAT and the Battle Droid.

Day 10 of the Star Wars Advent Calendar brings us the Republic Attack Cruiser which was used against the Separatists during the Clone Wars. To be honest, I really love the cartoon series where I get to see Jedi Obi Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano and Yoda in action and how every stories pieced up the gap.

Day 9 of the Star Wars Advent Calendar brings us the Hoth Rebel Trooper which was seen defending the Rebel Base during the battle of Hoth. Look at General Rieekan briefing the trooper on what to expect on the battlefield. Hehe another new minifigure that I do not have at the moment. I love it.

Day 8 of the Star Wars Advent Calendar brings us the Hoth Dish Turret aka 1.4 FD P-Tower which was seen during the battle of Hoth. I really think it is identical to what was seen in the movies. It's finally time for the Rebels to fight back now with more fighting powers added to their side.

Day 7 of the Star Wars Advent Calendar brings us the very cute Imperial Snowtrooper Snowman which I paired it together with my other minifigures from Lego Series 16 and Lego Disney's snowqueen. Don't you just love the snow man :)

Day 6 of the Star Wars Advent Calendar brings us the Snow Trooper which was seen attacking the Echo Base together with the AT-AT in Empire Strikes Back. I'm so happy because this is my very first Snow Trooper which I always hope to have. I'm really glad that Lego started coming up with so many Lego Star Wars sets again because I can finally own more and more of the rarer Star Wars minifigures.

Day 5 of the Star Wars Advent Calendar brings us the Hoth Turret which was seen defending the Echo Base in Star Wars - Empire Strikes Back movie. Hehe look at how happy the Snowspeeder pilot is upon seeing the addition of the Hoth Turret to help them in fighting against the Empire.

Day 4 of the Star Wars Advent Calendar brings us the Imperial Navy Trooper which is commonly seen on the Death Star and Imperial Star Destroyer. Don't you just love their cute umbrella shaped helmets hehe. Placed them next to my MOC Death Star as size comparison.

Day 3 of the Star Wars Advent Calendar brings us the TIE Interceptor which is commonly used by the Galactic Empire to hunt down the Rebels. Placed the TIE Interceptor beside the TIE pilot as size comparison. I really love all the TIE fighters, from the normal ones to the TIE Interceptor and TIE Advanced Prototype.

Day 2 of the Star Wars Advent Calendar brings us the Bespin Guard which was seen walking around the vicinity of the Cloud City. The Bespin Guard can be identified based on their standard issue of the blue uniform as they patrol the Cloud City. Something that I don't really like was the blaster which wasn't really cool. But then I really love the minifigure ^_^

Day 1 of the Star Wars Advent Calendar brings us the iconic Slave 1 that was used by non other than Boba Fett. I really love the Slave 1 because of it's unique design and how it was flown in a straight angle with Boba Fett visible from the windscreen hehe.

Yacht Day Out

Yeah finally the day has arrived for us to let our hair down. Felt so tired lately because I've been running and running in the hamster wheel in the corporate world. So happy that we're finally going on a yacht day to the neighboring Lazarus island and we have lots of activities waiting for us today ^_^

Meet up with the gang at Vivo City to have a light breakfast at Toastbox before heading to Cheers to get a few packets of ice before we head over to Marina at Keppel Bay. Yeah time for us to board the beautiful yacht by LeTara Yacht and set off to our destination of the day; the Lazarus Island :) It's our first time going onto a yacht and I'm glad the captain of the day is friendly and informative. And so after about 30 minutes we arrived at the Lazarus Island :)

The Lagoon

Lalala once we set foot at Lazarus Island, we take a stroll along the footpath to go over to the Lagoon which is just 5 minutes walk from the pier. Love the deep blue sea and how most of the island are left untouched by civilization. Have you heard the news lately that all of the residents from St John Island will have to move out from the island? Sometimes I really hope that government can let the residents who wished to continue to live on the island to stay put.

Really treasure the time we had over here just swimming in the sea and canoeing around with the unicorn behind us. Although we were told that the Water Trampoline was damaged by the previous group but we still managed to have so much fun today. I really appreciate the time we had together away from civilization and just relax by the sea.

If you're also climbing the corporate ladder like me and the many people out there, perhaps you wanna consider taking a break too and go on a yacht day out. Maybe consider island hopping to other islands around Singapore such as the Lazarus Island we went to, the St. John's Island, Kusu Island which I been wanting to go, or maybe even Pulau Hantu.
