3D2N Melaka Trip - Day 3

It's the last day of our 3D2N trip here at Melaka. We were so tired that we slept till 10am plus that we had no choice but to give the hotel breakfast a miss today. Prepared and check out of the hotel as we took a taxi to Melaka Sentral to have our lunch there. Hehe for me I had the Mcdonald's fried chicken and the girlfriend is having malay rice there. We even ate the Magnum ice cream while waiting for our KKKL bus that departs here at 1pm to Larkin Terminal.

Pretty pissed off that the bus driver seem to lost his way during the mid of the journey that he was driving around in circles, and I knew about it after opening the google map. In the end, we arrived at Larkin Terminal around 5pm plus, which is 4 hours plus of journey. #NotCool

Took a taxi to head over to KSL Johor Bahru to walk walk and have the D'Laksa too since we seldom came to JB as compared to the past. Lalala Lalala walk around with the girlfriend before we head for our dinner.

Wanted to take a cab to head over to Taman Garden that area but then all the dishonest taxi drivers are only there waiting to demand for unreasonable taxi rate for a journey that lasted less than 5 minutes and less than 4 traffic lights away. I think this is the one thing that always bothers me whenever we came to Malaysia, which is the ugly behaviors of their taxi drivers.

In the end we decided to walk over to Taman Garden instead of paying RM15 to RM20 because it's just so unreasonable. As you know, the crime rate in JB is pretty bad so we got to be extra careful when we're walking along the road and had to constantly look out for any suspicious motorbike riders. So happy that we're finally here safely and we can finally have our dinner lo. Yummy Yummy.

I love the Wanton Noodles, 鲍鱼面, and the must order Lok Lok ^_^ *Slurp Slurp* It's been such a long time since we cross the causeway to come here for the food ever since the causeway got really crowded as compared to the past. Took a taxi to City Square to walk around in the mall and spend some time at the Arcade. Lalala went to Old Town White Coffee to rest our feet with a cup of coffee before making our way back to Singapore. Really enjoyed our trip to Melaka and JB for the past 3 days :)

3D2N Melaka Trip - Day 2

Woke up early in the morning for our hotel breakfast before going back to our room for a rest. So tired but I just couldn't go back to sleep at all. Woke up in the afternoon and took a taxi from Hatten Hotel to Jalan Bachang for the Taiwan Pork Chop Noodles.

To be honest I think it's really better to find a meter running taxi (starting rate RM6) to places that are not too far unless you're fine with paying a fixed rate of RM20 to the ugly taxi drivers. And so after about 12 minutes of journey we arrived at Jalan Bachang and our taxi fare is only RM14. Ordered the Pork Chop noodle (RM5.50) and Spicy Beef noodle (RM5.50) and soft drink (RM2.20).

Not too sure what's the fuss about the Taiwan Pork Chop noodles but then the noodle are not really the kind of noodle that I like, plus the soup fail to give me the wow factor. I would rate it just 6/10.

Saw this stall selling coconut drink that I couldn't resist not ordering because the weather is so hot.

Walked for quite a distance before we managed to grab a taxi back to Jonker Street. Really dislike paying RM20 to the crook taxi drivers here because it's so easy money and they can earn few hundred dollars in just a day. As usual we came here to have Cendol before heading over to Jonker Street to walk around the area. So happy to walk around the area with the girlfriend, and buying the childhood toys to play :)

The weather was so hot that we decided to walk back to Nadeje Cake Shop for some tea time hehe. Ordered a slice of the original flavour Nadeje Mille Crepe cake (RM12.90) and rest our legs in the air-conditioned cafe. Gosh, we really got to thank whoever invented air-conditioning hehe.

Went back to the hotel to rest before heading out again. Initially we wanted to head to the swimming pool for a swim but the bed was just too tempting and in the end we sleep in till evening time before heading out to Jonker Street. It's Friday but there was not much crowd here tonight which is pretty weird.

Took a taxi from the end of Jonker Walk to Ban Lee Siang for the Satay Lok Lok. The standard taxi rate from Jonker Street to there is a flat rate of RM15 although it's just a 5 minutes car journey. Yummy Yummy we ate a total of 28 sticks which cost us RM31. As we're so full and we memorise the way back to Jonker Street, we decided not to take the taxi anymore and walk back which is just about 15 minutes away.

The girlfriend managed to contact Jess who is always in Melaka with her family. Meet up with her for a movie "The Jungle Book" at 9.50pm before heading to their hotel to check out the hotel and also ours. Time for some wefie before we all rest for the night as rain started to fall.

3D2N Melaka Trip - Day 1

Lalala it's our 3 years anniversary today and we're going on a short getaway trip to Melaka. Packed our bags and left the house at about 7am plus as we head to Ang Mo Kio MRT station. Took the MRT from Ang Mo Kio to Kranji and we used our EZ-Link cards to take the bus 170 to Woodlands Checkpoint.

So lucky it wasn't crowded since it's a Thursday and majority of the people are working. Once we cleared the Woodlands checkpoint as well as the Malaysia checkpoint, we went down to the Hentian Bas (Bus Bay) to take SBS transit 170 to Larkin Terminal.

It got so crowded here pretty fast as the queue for the bus gets longer and longer

Using our EZ Link cards to get to Larking Terminal

So happy that we managed to get a seat and didn't have to stand although it was just a 15 minutes bus journey from the Malaysia checkpoint to Larkin Terminal. Once we got there, we went straight to KKKL bus ticketing booth to check out the tickets to Melaka. We're so lucky because there's one at 10am so we only have to wait for less than 30 minutes for the coach bus. Bought the bus tickets for two for RM42 to go to Melaka.

Our 10am bus ride to Melaka

Lalala we finally arrived at Melaka Sentral at 12.50pm. It's a closed to 3 hours journey from Larkin Terminal to Melaka and I felt it's even faster than us taking the bus from Singapore to Melaka via the Tuas Checkpoint.

Once we alighted form the bus, we walked to the ticket counters to look for the KKKL ticketing booth to buy our bus tickets for our return trip on Saturday for RM42. Yeah so happy that we got here so fast and spent so much lesser than taking the bus from Singapore which will cost us twice the price.

Check out the timing from Melaka Sentral back to Larkin Terminal to plan your time better :)

Our bus tickets back to Larkin Terminal on Saturday

Went to the main entrance of Melaka Sentral to take a taxi to Makota Parade. Take note that none of the taxi drivers here will want to run on meter and they will openly charge you a flat rate of RM20 to go to Makota Parade which is just 10 minutes of journey.

Alighted infront of Restoran Nyonya Suan for our lunch as we're starving and it's still too early to check-in to the hotel too. Ordered the Ayam Rendang (RM17), Asam Slice Fish (RM25), Kangkung Cili Belacan (RM11) and Telur Dadar Chincaluk / Fermented Baby Shrimp fried egg (RM9). So happy because I really love the food here so much as compared to the rest of the Nyonya restaurant nearby.

After our lunch at Restoran Nyonya Suan, we walked over to Hatten Hotel which is just 10 minutes away. So happy that we're able to check-in to our room earlier because we're so tired after the long journey and the weather was so hot.

Our travel companions every single time :)

Woke up and went down to the swimming pool for a 30 minutes swim before we head out for dinner. Walked over to Tong Sheng Restaurant which is just 10 minutes walk for our dinner. Ordered the Cheesy Prawn Mee Hun (RM35) and Salted Egg Crabs which we have to order a minimum of 2 crabs (RM149.50). To be honest we were pretty shock at the price of the crabs because we could have eaten alot more in JB with that amount of money.

After our dinner, we walked back to Makota Mall for a walk and went to ToysRus too hehe. Lalala got for myself the Lego Mighty Micro Batman versus. Catwoman for RM49. It is so cheap and based on the current exchange rate, it is only SGD$17.20 so I save a few bucks :)

Hehe so happy to be spending our time together here in Melaka. Went to play bowling at the mall, and we kinda sucks at it lol. We are so lousy at bowling that none of our scores exceed 100 marks haha. After our bowling, we head back to the hotel to rest for the day since it's a Thursday and there's nothing much at Jonker Street today too.
