9D8N Trip to Taiwan - Day five

It's day five of our taiwan trip and we'll making some changes to our previous itinerary by switching day 6 and day 5 all together. We'll be going to the Long Shan Shi Temple (龙山寺) to 拜拜, and of course our long awaited trip to the Line Friends store at 微風松高店, as well as drop by Taipei 101 (台北101) and not forgetting the Wu Fen Pu (五分埔商圈) and nearby Raohe Night Market (饶河街夜市).

Settled our breakfast in the hotel and I think the Go Sleep @ Hankou really serve some decent breakfast such as the usual fried hash brown, steam hot dogs, porridge, fried noodles etc to cater to tourists of all sorts.

And what made me really happy was that I am able to rent their iron to iron all my crumpled shirts for a small fee which is of course refundable after we return it back. I am such a neat freak :p

And so after our breakfast and me ironing all our clothes for the next few days, we are good to proceed to our first destination of the day - the Long Shan Shi Temple (龙山寺). Took the Metro train as usual from Ximen station to Longshan Temple station via the Bannan Line which is just one station away. Once we exit from the station, there will be signs telling us which way to go to the Long Shan Shi Temple (龙山寺).

We're finally here. It's always been our practice to visit the temples whenever we travel, such as our previous trip to Penang where we went to the Kek Lok Si Temple. I guess we just hope to pray for our loved ones to be forever be in the pink of health. Got some bracelets for my mum and grandma and hope that they'll always be healthy and free of bodily pain as they aged.

Just some information: Do you know that the Long Shan Shi Temple (龙山寺) was built in Taipei in 1738 by settlers from FujianChina during the time of Emperor Qian Long (乾隆帝). It served as a place of worship and a gathering place for the Chinese settlers. The temple has been destroyed either in full or in part on numerous earthquakes and fires. During World War II, on 31 May 1945 it was hit by American bombers during the Raid on Taipei, who claimed the Japanese were hiding armaments inside. But lucky it was rebuilt and is one of the famous temple in Taiwan.

Lalala and now for our most anticipated trip of all, the Line Friends store at 微風松高店. Well, as we're a huge fan of the Line Friends Brown and Cony as well as the other characters, we are so happy when we know that there is a Line Friends store here in Taiwan.

Took the metro train again for obvious reasons, because that is the most cheapest mode of transport and really convenient to get us to where we want to go. I just love Taiwan. Took the Bannan Line again to head over to Taipei City Hall and thereafter with the use of the Google Map, we arrived at the 微風松高店 in just 5 to 10 minutes of walk.

So excited that we're finally here at the 微風松高店, which means we're just minutes away from the Line Friends store that we've always dream of visiting. Took the escalator to level 3 of the 微風松高店 and you'll see the whole stretch of Line Friends characters just beside the escalator. We're so excited that we kept on going around taking photos and buying lots and lots of Line Friends merchandise that our hands can carry. How I wish I can buy everything here to bring back to Singapore. If only there is one such Line Friends store in Singapore too since the Line messaging app is so frequently use by people there, but yet there are so little Line Friends merchandise as the year goes by.

Our Xiao Xiao Brown and Xiao Xiao Cony finally gets to visit the Line Friends store too

And so after visiting the Line Friends store and spending up to NT3600 here, we have to bid farewell before we spent up all our remaining cash here. There are still so many things that I wanna buy but it's impossible to get all. Look at that cute slippers and Brown heat pack and note books. Argh I so wanna get them all.

Time to visit the Taipei 101 (台北101) because it's just a 5 to 10 minutes walk from here. As we don't really think there's a need to go up to the peak of the Taipei 101 (台北101), we just stick around the area and took some photos before taking a short break at the nearby ATT 4 Fun. There's even a Donguri Republic here at the basement if you're a huge fan of the famous Studio Ghibli's movies like My Neighbour Totoro, Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle.

The girlfriend at Taipei 101

Don't you just love how bicycle friendly Taiwan is

The girlfriend trying out the Ubike

And after walking around the area, we kinda ended up at Taipei101/World Trade Center station which is not a good thing since that is the Tamsui-Xinyi Line. And so we end up having to take the metro from here to Daan station and thereafter change to Zhongxiao Fuxing station and finally arriving at Houshanpi station in order for us to get to Wu Fen Pu (五分埔商圈). If only we head back to Taipei City Hall station and we won't have to take such a big round here.

So glad that we're finally here at Houshanpi station lor. Followed the road sign and within 5 minutes we're here at Wu Fen Pu (五分埔商圈). If you're looking to get lots of clothes here to sell or for your own usage, this is a good place since it's more of a wholesale market where you can bargain to get some cheaper deals if you're buying alot. Well, if you're considering coming here, do come over only about 5pm since I think you only need to walk about a hour here before you head over to the Raohe Night Market (饶河街夜市) for a walk and dinner.

Didn't really stick around here for too long since majority of the clothes here aren't really the girlfriend's type of fashion but at least she managed to get one piece of shirt here haha. And so we start to slowly walk over to Raohe Night Market (饶河街夜市) which is just 10 minutes of walk. Stick around at the nearby fast food restaurant to rest our legs before we head over there.

Finally we arrived at Raohe Night Market (饶河街夜市) and like every night market in Taipei, there are lots of stalls selling food, but then the night market here seems to be more towards seafood delicacies.

Went over to the nearby Rainbow bridge to take a walk to see how it looks like

And so after having our dinner here, we head over to grab some Sun biscuits (太阳饼) and some 凤梨酥 from the famous ChiaTe which is famous for their 太阳饼 and 凤梨酥. Took the metro train to Nanjing Sanmin station to get to the ChiaTe main shop. Can't imagine we managed to get so many things here and our previous load of Line Friends merchandise and took the train all the way back to the hotel in Xi Men Ding.

So happy that we're finally back to our hotel after carrying all the things that we bought for the day, especially the 凤梨酥 and 太阳饼 that we're bringing back for our friends and colleagues. Lalala the most happiest thing of all, our Line Friends merchandise hehe.
