9D8N Trip to Taiwan - Day four

It's the fourth day of our Taiwan trip and we're going to bid farewell to our beautiful Mingsu at 清境 and head over to the 日月潭 (Sun Moon Lake) and finally back to 台北 again.

Had our breakfast at the Mingsu and thankfully the breakfast wasn't that bad at all. Went back to our room to prepare and head down hoping to catch a glimpse of 旺仔 but we just couldn't see him anywhere at all.

Went to the 7-eleven to get a packet of fried rice to eat and walk around the area before heading back to the Mingsu. Felt so sad that we didn't get to see 旺仔 before leaving here but we did left a bowl of doggie food for him in case he came back somehow...

In case you're wondering how we're going to 日月潭 (Sun Moon Lake) from here, lucky our Mingsu provides transportation from 愛力家民宿 to 日月潭水社各民宿 for a price of NT400 per person. Do note that if you require such service, you will have to drop them an email at ailiga2013@gmail.com to make a reservation one day in advance.

And so with a heavy heart we left 愛力家民宿 for 日月潭 with our transport van at 1.00pm without getting to see 旺仔. Gosh, are we in danger!! The van driver was driving so fast from 清境 to 日月潭 that we got so giddy that we really feel like puking. Thank God we arrived safely.

The girlfriend's very tired look after that terrible journey from 清境

Our ferry tickets for a round trip at 日月潭 (Sun Moon Lake)

Our ferry for the day :)

The girlfriend who enjoys taking the ferry

Our first stop of the ferry ride will be at the 玄光寺 pier where you'll find the famous 金盆阿嬷香菇茶葉蛋 (tea eggs). Yummy Yummy eggs because I am a fan of 茶葉蛋 myself and I just couldn't resist not getting them at all. And so in the end, both of us ate a total of EIGHT 茶葉蛋 lol.

The 玄光寺 temple that you'll find at the top of a flight of stairs.

And so after stuffing ourselves with lots of eggs and walking around, we head back to take the ferry ride to the next stop of the day, which is the Ita Thao 伊達邵 pier where you'll see the ropeway cable car that will take visitors all the way to the 九族文化村 (Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village).

While exploring the old streets, we noticed that there are a number of shops selling souvenirs in a form of owls, and little did we know owls are actually considered as a sacred animal for the people here.

Afterwhich, we boarded the ferry back to the pier when we first boarded the ferry in the beginning. Well, and that was the changes we made to our itinerary which is to skip the part on going to the 九族文化村 (Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village) because of one very simple reason hehe. We're afraid of taking the Ropeway Cable Car due to our fear of heights lol. And so we decided to just head back to Taipei earlier.

Managed to find the 南投客運 (Nantou) ticket booth after a 10 minutes walk from the pier, and we're super duper lucky to be able to get the tickets to the bus that was about to depart to 台中. Each ticket will cost you NT189 from 日月潭 to 台中 and the journey will take about 1 hour.

We're really lucky that we skipped 九族文化村 (Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village) because the Nantou bus will pick up passengers at the 九族文化村 and you could board the bus and they even allow standing but once the bus reaches the 埔里站 (Puli Station), you'll have to alight and wait for the next bus if you do not have a seat. For people like us who is going straight to 台中, you do not need to alight and transfer to other buses.

Lalala we're finally here at the 台中 station and we kinda missed the next train to Taipei but lucky we only need to wait for 20 minutes before the next train. Purchased the reserved seats tickets again for a comfort ride back to Taipei.

Our HSR tickets to travel from 台中 and back to 台北.

Finally we're back to 台北 after a 40 minutes HSR train journey from 台中. Glad that we have finally pass all our test of all the long travelling from Taipei to Tai Chung to Cing Jing and back to Taipei. With our energy level coming to a low battery status, we only have the strength left to check-in to our Go Sleep Hotel @ Hankou and explore 西门町 for the rest of the day.

Having our dinner at 天天利美食坊 which is located just beside the 豪大大鸡排 at 西门町. Loving the carrot cake which was really nice as it's crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. The dry beehoon was pretty good too as the beehoon they used are more thin and different from what we had in Singapore. As for the fried oyster, it's not to my liking since I prefer the way it was cooked in Singapore which is more crispy and more eggs are involved :p
