iLight Marina Bay, Uncle Ringo Carnival & GastroBeats

Lalala meet up with the girlfriend at Centrepoint after her work as we take the SBS Express bus 502 to go over to Marina Bay Sands. Just a 10 minutes walk from the bus stop and we arrived at the Uncle Ringo Carnival where the GastroBeats and iLight @ Marina Bay are at too. 

Over at the Uncle Ringo, there are like 8 different game stations for us to try our luck on to see if we will get to win any soft toys back home with us. First of all, we got to purchase the game cards which are priced at S$25 (S$23 game credits and S$2 non-refundable) and S$50 (S$50 game credits) with subsequent top ups available from S$1.00. As the games there are priced at S$5 per game, it's wise for us to add-on subsequent top up of S$2 so that we would have S$25 game credits since we're only getting the S$25 card. It just makes more sense else we would have S$3 left in the card and we have to queue up all over just to top up again. So here we are with S$25 game credits which would allow us to play a total of 5 games tonight to see if we can win any soft toys back ^_^

Hehe managed to win the Mr Mario and Luigi soft toys for the silly girlfriend who likes to play the games at fun fair but always say see see is enough. Lalala so happy to be here with the girlfriend tonight just walking around and watching people playing too. 

Lego BrickHeadz Beauty & the Beast

Hehe I am so like a kid today because I'm leaving home early with the girlfriend but she's going to work and I'm alighting at Serangoon. Why? Because today's the launch of the Lego Brick Headz Beauty & the Beast series where the round base plate will be given out during this weekend only. So, I just got to get my hands on it since I missed the previous ones during the Batman launch last weekend as we're in Melacca.

Lalala I'm so happy hehe. Finally got my hands on the Lego Brick Headz Beauty & the Beast, as well as the Lego City 60100 Starter Set because there is a discount going from so the price of it dropped from S$19.90 to S$13.90 hehe. Lalala heading home with my Lego, some snacks for the two doggies at home and also the bedding for the bunnies and hamsters at home.

Finally it's Friday again. I guess for those who work a 5 days week job always look forward to Friday because that's when we can finally smell the weekends. Life at work has been rather busy these few days because of all the weird cases that have been occurring giving me a rather big headache. Worse still, I'm a one man show for the entire week. 

Yeah finally it's 5.45pm and it's time for me to head over to Orchard lo. Went to get the Lego Brick Headz Robin from the Bricks World today. So cute cute and I can't wait to fix it up ^_^ Waited for the girlfriend to finish her work and we went over to Plaza Singapura for our dinner before we head back home.

Thursday Run

Time for our weekly run today after skipping it yesterday due to the crazy hot weather. I'm glad tonight's weather is way so much better and it's cooling too. Lalala it's really good to go for a run at times to sweat it out and just enjoy the scenery and breeze along the Central Business District (CBD). 

My Ah Dai Hairstyle

It's been like only 4 weeks since my last haircut and the length of my hair has grown so long that I really look like I am growing wheat grass above my head hahaha. Wanted to have my haircut on Monday but too bad my regular hair stylist at Snip Avenue was on leave so I have to endure for one more day before I can have my haircut. 

Lalala so happy after my hair cut because my hair feels so light now and it doesn't really look like a pile of wheat grass is growing above anymore. Meet up with the girlfriend at Hougang as we walk over to the 5 Star western for dinner. I so love their Hot Plate Mixed Grill with black pepper sauce because it's just so delicious. Yeah I just got to have ice cream for tonight too hehe ^_^

My 32nd Birthday

Had a very enjoyable and happy birthday with the girlfriend this year as we spent the weekends at Melaka where we get to eat all the nice food that we had cravings for. I got the cute cute Pokemon Snorlax soft toy from Jonker Walk and the nice cute Lego set from the ToysRus during my trip too hehe.

Yeah birthday treat from the girlfriend tonight as we head over to Hai Di Lao at 313 Somerset for our dinner after arriving back to Singapore around 10pm plus. Yummy yummy late night dinner here. I love every dishes here except the sour sour Mangoes from my special birthday cake from Hai Di Lao hehe.

2D1N Melaka Trip - Day 2

OMG me and the girlfriend actually slept till 10am before we woke up and the hotel breakfast is ending at 10.30am. Faster washed up and head up to the highest level for our breakfast. I love the fact that Premier hotel guests get to have the breakfast at a different area so we didn't really need to queue with lots of people to get the food. I guess that's what Hatten wanted the guest to feel so that people would signed up for the Premier membership.

Lalala went back to our room to relax before we say tata to our hotel because it's time for us to check-out liao. Don't really wanna say tata because I don't wanna go back to reality.

Head over to Jonker Walk to walk around and enjoy the day time atmosphere there which was alot different in the day. Hehe the girlfriend knew I live the trishaw ride so here we are again on the trishaw ride. Woohoo Pikachu ride for us hehe. 

Hehe so happy after taking the Trishaw ride with the girlfriend. Although it's just a short 5 minutes ride but I felt so happy every single time when I have her by my side as we sit on the Trishaw going from point A to point B hehe. 

Time to have our Chendol here before we head over to Jonker Street to walk around the area. Walk around Jonker Street and check out the lots and lots of Lepin here where the temptations are high but yet I have to control myself from making the wrong decisions lol. 

Yeah finally here again to sit back and relax over a cup of coffee with the girlfriend lalala. If only time can past by slower abit. I just don't wanna be back home so fast. 

Can't believe we ate all the main food that we wanna ate on the first day of our trip and now we get to have Nandos too hehe. Time to head for our lunch at Nandos hehe. Yummy yummy Nandos chicken that we both love ^_^ and I have the tasty layer cake for my birthday too hehe. So sweet de cos dear dear sang the birthday song for me.

After our lunch, we went over to ToyRus for me to get a Lego here before we head back to the hotel to catch our coach bus back to Singapore le. Time to say tata to Melaka liao. Had a very happy happy 2 days 1 night stay here in Melaka for my birthday with the girlfriend. Tata lo Melaka.

And so it's a very smooth journey back to Singapore I guess. We only got caught in a jam only till we were approaching the Singapore checkpoint so I would say it's pretty not bad. Lalala lalala time to head for our late night dinner at Hai Di Lao.

2D1N Melaka Trip - Day 1

Yeah finally dear can take some time off and we're heading to Melaka again after such a long time. Lalala so happy hehe. Woke up early in the morning and head over to Concorde Hotel @ Orchard to catch the Luxury Coach from Singapore to Melaka ^_^

Argh it's the start of the one week school holidays in Singapore and there are lots of people travelling up to Malaysia over the weekends that we're stuck in the traffic for so long. Can you imagine being stuck in the bus for so many hours. So happy when we finally arrived at the pit stop at Yong Peng Lucky Garden for us to have a short 30 minutes break :)

Finally we are here at Hatten Hotel around 3pm+ after spending such a long time inside the coach bus. So sad that we were delayed for like 2 hours more than our usual timing due to the school holidays. Got a room upgrade from my original Premier Deluxe Suite to Hatten Suite which was a bigger room with a living room, 2 bath rooms and King size bed however I'm not too impressed since my initial room was on a higher level but now we were given a lower level room. The reason given to me wasn't very convincing when I was told the room that I have booked are all fully occupied? Maybe I don't understand the logic of making a hotel reservation but correct me if I'm wrong. Why do we even make a hotel booking if the room we booked prior to our stay will still be occupied by then. ROFL. 

Lalala checked into our room before we head out for lunch. Initially wanted to eat the Nyonya food at Restoran Nyonya Suan but it's closed from 2.30pm and reopened from 5.30pm onwards. Damn I was conned by those people who updated the wrong information at TripAdvisor. In the end we walked over to the mall for a walk before deciding to head over to Restoran Tong Seng to have the cheesy prawn beehoon. But guess what! The shop is closed over the weekends for god knows what reasons!! Damn we were conned by the information indicated in TripAdvisor for the second time. So angry that I login to TripAdvisor to update the correct operating hours.

By this time we're both sweating like nobody business and sweaty all over with all the wrong information causing us to walk for such a long distance. In the end we walked back to Restoran Nyonya Suan to have our late lunch when the restoran opens again at 5.30pm.

First Stop: Restoran Nyonya Suan

It seems that price hike has strike Melaka too with the prices of all the dishes up by RM2. Ordered the Ayam Rendang (RM20.14), Kang Kung Belacan (RM13.78), Telur Dadar Udang (RM13.78) and Ikan Gerang Asam sliced fish *market price* (RM34.98). Everything are not cheap anymore since the implementation of the GST in Malaysia. 

Decided to try out Uber as our main mode of transport here in Melaka since we dislike the dishonest taxi culture here where the drivers just love to extort tourists with every journey from RM12-RM15. Guess what, our journey from Restoran Nyonya Suan to our next destination cost us just RM4.13.

Second Stop: Tong Bee Stall Long Kang Siham

Yeah time to try out the Tong Bee Stall - Long Kang Siham located along Jalan Bunga Raya near to Jalan Munshi Abdullah. You just need to be adventurous enough to walk around the area and you're find lots of people sitting on the little cute short stools along the Long Kang having their endless plates of cockles, clams and mussels. 

Yummy yummy muscles and clams hehe. Ordered 2 plates of muscles (RM4) and the claypot clams (RM10) which tasted so nice but too bad we were too full from our Nyonya food that we didn't get to order all the other dishes. Phew we were damn full from all the delicacies around here hehe. Decided to take a walk along the streets back to Jonker Walk to digest what we have eaten so far. Lalala within 15 minutes or so we're back to Jonker Walk. 

Third Stop: Jonker Walk

Lalala time to walk around Jonker Walk and get all the delicacies that I wanna eat from here. The crowd was crazy tonight due to the school holidays and there were so many Singaporeans around us lol.

Fourth Stop: Satay Lok Lok

Walked back and forth Jonker Walk before we decided to go have our Satay Lok Lok so that we can be back on time for our movie later on. Lalala our Uber trip cost us just RM3 from Jonker Walk to Ban Lee Siang Satay Lok Lok instead of the usual RM15 if we took the dishonest taxis at the main entrance. Wooo even the prices here have increased liao. We had a total of 24 sticks which cost us RM26.40 (RM1.10 per stick).

Yeah time for our movie. Took Uber to head back to our hotel which cost us just RM7.23 from Ban Lee Siang to Hatten. Had a short rest before we head over to GSC Dataran Pahlawan for our movie date hehe. Watched Kong: Skull Island with the girlfriend tonight ^_^

Birthday celebration @ TMLS

Had a little mini birthday celebration by my colleagues in the office today. Really appreciate getting to know some of the people here who became my friends other than just being colleagues. As colleagues, we spent like most of the time together from 8.45am to 5.45pm so we kinda see each other the most as compared to us seeing our parents or our friends. That was why I always hope that life in the office can be political free and everyone will be nice to each other with no hidden agenda. 

Tuesday Run

Can't believe we are doing it again but I'm glad we did it. Really feel so good to let the body feel the ache as we starts to move our feet again. I really appreciate this weekly run with the colleagues although I dunno how long will I still be running with them. 

Days of sorrows

Another frustrating day at work.

I've never felt so stupid in my life. Being asked to do things when you knew it would not be of much use but yet you have to do it ROFL. What's worse was when you're being kept in the dark important information which made you unproductive at work. Felt so frustrated when you're being treated like an employee of no value.

Went to Singapore General Hospital to visit Ah Ma together with the girlfriend today. Came here with a heavy heart because part of me wanted to see her alot but yet I do not wished to see her in such pain. I really do not wish to face the fact that I may not see or hear her voice anymore. I really hope that none of what I've heard the doctor said of her conditions were true. I want Ah Ma to be healthy and I will still be able to see her and Ah Gong all the time. I can't stop crying myself to sleep... 

Days of darkness

I've not been able to smile like before these couple of days. All I am thinking of was whether or not Ah Ma will recover from the Cancer and whether will she get to go home. The thought of her lying on the hospital bed and her constantly concern about Ah Gong just makes my heart ache. 

I couldn't stop crying at night. Went to Singapore General Hospital (SGH) to see Ah Ma today and I really couldn't take seeing her lying there in pain and not knowing what was really happening. Everyone just kept her in the dark about it hoping that somehow she will be cheerful and fight the Cancer cells. 

I really don't want to lose her at all. All along I always hope to have both my grandparents watch me marry the love of my life and driving them to our new home at Punggol in a couple of year. Did God made a mistake? Please don't take her away from me...  

Wednesday Run

Woo hoo we're starting back our weekly run again after such a long long time of slacking. So glad to be out running and getting to chill after a long day at work. It sure beats sitting in the office after office hours and I feel more productive.
