The MAMA SHOP 妈妈店

TGIF

Lalala meet up with the girlfriend as we head over to Chinatown to have the Tiong Bahru Chicken Rice for dinner. It's been so long since we came here for dinner due to our busy schedule over the past few weeks.

Thereafter we head over to newly open MaMa Shop 妈妈店 set up by 2 Mediacorp artistes, Felicia Chin and Sora Ma. The shop is located at 195 Pearl's Hill Terrace, the former Police Operational Headquarters.

How to get there:
Well, if you're wondering how to get to the place, you can take the North East Line (NE) and alight at Chinatown MRT Station, and thereafter walk to the back-lane of Pearl's Centre. Once you're there, you'll see a staircase and it'll leads you straight up to the former Police Operational Headquarters.

The place was pretty full house when we got there, and it took quite awhile before we eventually settled down with a table for two. Hopefully more food items and tables & chairs will be added in weeks to come.

Tried the Ovomaltine Waffles and the Mama Ice Coffee for our first visit here. Hmm, not sure about the rest of the people here but I kinda find the coffee abit too sour for my liking, though the waffles deserved a thumbs up.

I feel that more should be done on the overall appearance of the shop before the official launch, such as a fix design of tables and chairs and not the ones they are currently using, which is not present to the eyes, especially if you have OCD :p As this shop was advertised as a retro theme cafe by the media, hopefully more can be done to create the retro feel such as the music used by them, the tables and chairs, as well as the fridge that they are using to store the can drinks outside the shop.

Nevertheless, I still wish that they will have a prosperous business ahead of them :) Huat Huat ah...
